A really cool girl named Bloo

No one could ever accuse Bloo of being unoriginal. She was the most unique individual any of us may ever know. Born Lisa Longo but eventually named for her blue dreadlock, Bloo loved music, dogs, friends and riding powder.  She was a snowboarder, a vegan, and a DJ. She was a sister, a daughter and a friend.

Just the other day I was fortunate enough to catch up on old times with my friend. We had a good ol’ moment, a hug and a high five.  Now she’s gone. Gone from this world as we know it. But Bloo, like her dog Mingus, was a free spirit and now, she truly is free

I miss you Bloo—Mammoth misses you and Mingus too.

  1. Bloo will be missed and is flying everywhere. Thank you Monica for honoring her and being an inspiration as always. Angel wing hugs. Peace, love and light, The Goodwin’s. XO

  2. Bloo was the Athena of the mountains. I met her at the top of an insane powder day randomly, and rode sick lines and chutes all day. Never before have I seen energy like hers. She was truly magical. I am heartbroken that this world no longer has her spirit, but I know she is just being magical somewhere else and able to bless whomever is fortunate to cross her path. If you read this Bloo…Thank You for showing me how special humans can be. I will remember your happiness and smile always.

  3. Aww… That was touching!! Brought some tears. Mammoth will miss her!!! I’ll miss seeing her everyday in the health food store with all the best snacks, seriously, I would check out what she had in her arms and get after it.

  4. I’ve known Lisa for a long time now I am fortunate to have called her my best friend. She was magical she was so inspirational. These stories and comments capture her completely. I have not seen her in years since she moved to mammoth lakes however she would visit us when in Los Angeles. She is missed beyond words. I am heart broken. I hope she did not suffer she deserves to fly freely now after all of her work here, she’s left us with wonderful memories big love and a smile with tear filled eyes. Its all good I hear her say. No worries I am all good!

  5. In Bloo’s short life she enriched the lives of many with her unique free spirit. I always admired her passion for music and the sparkle and light that seemed to radiate from her. Although I never had the opportunity to get to know Bloo very well, I feel blessed to have known her at all; for those of you who were lucky enough to be a part of her inner circle of family and friends, I can only extend my deepest sympathy for your loss.

  6. My deepest sympathy… When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure. ~Author Unknown
